You can make an application to the scheme in the following ways:
What happens next?
Face-to-face Meeting
You will be asked to come for a face to face appointment at our office to discuss your requirement. During the meeting our administrator will explain exactly how the scheme works.
The limit of the loan is £300 and we will need to be satisfied that the loan can be repaid within 12 months without causing further hardship or debt.
You need to provide evidence of your income and current outgoings, as well as a copy of your latest bank statement.
Approval of a loan
If your application is approved we will order the goods on your behalf, wherever possible from a local supplier. They will then contact you to arrange delivery, and fitting if necessary.
We only purchase new goods, in order to take advantage of the manufacturer’s warranty. The only exception to this is furniture which is obtained from a local refurbishment charity.
If you do not pay
In the event of failure to complete the agreement (i.e. not paying back what you owe), we reserve the right to secure any outstanding money from the Department of Works and Pensions by means of a deduction from your benefits. This is only done as a last resort after a number of attempts have been made to contact you. We do not resort to using debt-collection agencies.
